Thiruvananthapuram: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the State can leverage the single-window online platform, KSWIFT, launched by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC), to manage their professional tax registration hassle-free, by avoiding multiple physical visits to fulfil the requirement.
Professional Tax, levied by local bodies – municipalities, corporations and panchayats – on employees, professionals, and businesses, is one of the statutory obligations to be fulfilled by MSMEs. MSMEs can apply for registration through KSWIFT (Kerala Single Window Interface for Fast and Transparent Clearance), https://kswift.kerala.gov.in/index/, set up as part of the Government’s pioneering initiatives to enhance Ease of Doing Business (EoDB).
Businesses can apply for and manage their Professional Tax registration by submitting the necessary licenses and certificates. This helps enterprises to focus on their business, skipping cumbersome paperwork and making a personal appearance before the authorities concerned, unnecessary.
KSWIFT was introduced to make setting up and operating businesses easier by offering various services to businesses, particularly MSMEs, through the quick facilitation of government approvals. It facilitates entrepreneurs to apply for all necessary approvals from different government departments through a single online system, eliminating procedural delays and significantly speeding up the approval process.
MSMEs can now apply for Fire and Rescue NOC through KSWIFT portal
MSMEs in Kerala can now obtain Fire and Rescue NOC (No-Objection Certificate) through the online KSWIFT (Kerala Single Window Interface for Fast and Transparent Clearance) portal launched by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC).
KSWIFT’s latest service to provide online Fire and Rescue NOC is part of the Government’s various initiatives to enhance Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) in the state.
Fire and Rescue NOC, issued by the Kerala Fire and Rescue Services Department, ensures that a building or industrial unit complies with fire safety norms and has adequate preventive measures in place. Obtaining this certificate is often mandatory for MSMEs, especially if the business involves manufacturing, storage, or handling of materials that pose fire risks.
Instead of going through multiple offices and paperwork, applicants can now submit their request through the KSWIFT portal.
